What to expect from microneedling
Microneedling boosts your skin’s own collagen with tiny controlled micro-channels. Here’s what a session feels like, how many you need, and how to care for your skin afterward.
Chemical peels 101: a beginner’s guide
Peels sound intense, but they’re simply a controlled way to resurface dull, uneven skin. We break down the strengths, what each treats, and what recovery looks like.
Powerful skincare ingredients, explained
Retinol, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide — what each one does, who they’re for, and how to layer them without irritating your skin.
What to expect from a microneedling treatment
The stresses of daily life, sun, and time can leave skin looking tired, rough, or marked by old breakouts. Microneedling is one of the most reliable ways to refresh it — not by adding anything artificial, but by prompting your skin to rebuild itself.
How it works
A device with fine needles creates thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your body responds the way it does to any small injury: it produces fresh collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth. Over a series of sessions, that new collagen refines texture, softens scarring, shrinks the look of pores, and restores a healthy glow.
What a session feels like
We apply a numbing cream first, so most people feel only light pressure or a mild prickling. A session takes about 45 to 60 minutes including numbing. Afterward your skin looks flushed, similar to a light sunburn, for a day or two.
How many sessions
Most people see the best results from a series of three to six sessions spaced about four weeks apart, then occasional maintenance. Because results come from your own collagen rebuilding, they continue to improve in the weeks after each visit.
Aftercare in brief
- Use only gentle, recommended products for the first 48–72 hours.
- Skip makeup for 24 hours.
- Avoid sun, heat, and heavy sweating for a day or two.
- Wear SPF every day — fresh skin is especially sun-sensitive.

Chemical peels 101: the ultimate guide for beginners
A chemical peel uses a professional solution to gently dissolve the outer, dull layers of skin so smoother, brighter, more even skin can surface. Despite the name, a well-chosen peel is a controlled, comfortable treatment — not something to fear.
What peels treat
- Uneven tone and dullness
- Sun damage and dark spots
- Rough or congested texture
- Mild acne and post-acne marks
- Early fine lines
Light, medium, and beyond
Peels come in strengths. A light peel refreshes with essentially no downtime; a medium peel does more and may cause a few days of flaking. We choose the strength and blend based on your skin and goals, and we often build results gradually with a series rather than one aggressive treatment.
Recovery
Depending on strength, you may see light flaking or peeling for a few days. The golden rule: don’t pick. Let skin shed naturally, keep it moisturized, pause active ingredients, and wear SPF 50 daily — sun protection after a peel is non-negotiable.

Powerful skincare ingredients and how they work
A few well-chosen ingredients do most of the heavy lifting in any good routine. Here’s a plain-language guide.
Retinol
A vitamin-A derivative that speeds cell turnover, smooths texture, and softens fine lines. It’s powerful, so start slowly — skin new to retinol needs to build tolerance, and you should always pair it with daily SPF.
Vitamin C
An antioxidant that brightens, helps fade dark spots, and protects against daily environmental stress. Best used in the morning under sunscreen.
Hyaluronic acid
A hydrator that holds many times its weight in water, plumping and smoothing skin. It suits virtually every skin type and layers well under moisturizer.
Niacinamide
A form of vitamin B3 that calms redness, supports the skin barrier, and helps regulate oil — gentle enough for most people.
SPF
The single most effective anti-aging product there is. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50 protects everything else you do for your skin. If you only adopt one habit, make it this.
